SAULT STE. MARIE — The 2025 Soo Film Festival wrapped up Sept. 14 after five days of screenings at the historic Soo Theatre and Bayliss Public Library in downtown Sault Ste. Marie.
Per a Sept. 18 news release, festival attendees voted by ballot for their favorite films.

- Documentary Feature: “Did You Guys Eat? / Ya Comieron: Stories of Michigan Agriculture,” directed by Stephany Slaughter
- Documentary Short: “Sacred Waters: Anishinaabeg Naagdawenmaanaanig Giigoonhkewin (The First People Taking Care of the Fishery),” directed by Finn Ryan and Aaron Peterson
- Student Documentary Short: “A-Okay,” directed by J Fitzpatrick; Animation “Livid Mortis,” directed by David Mzolo
- Student Animation: “Bounce,” directed by Tristan Cloete; Narrative Short “Sidekicks,” directed by John Daniel
- International Narrative Short: “Sarcum,” directed by Ignacio Malagón
- Student Narrative Short “The Most Delicious Game,” directed by Ethan Schmaltz
- Music Video: “How’d You Feel (About Talkin’ to Me)” by Bogue, edited by Joseph Frezza
The next Soo Film Festival is scheduled for Sept. 16-20, 2026.
Soo Film Festival Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting and hosting film and allied arts festivals in the city.
