CADILLAC — A 62-year-old Cadillac man has been arrested following a Michigan State Police investigation into child sexually abusive material.
The MSP Computer Crimes Unit, Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force said Robert Edward Beals was taken into custody after the Michigan Department of Corrections requested an investigation. During a forensic review of devices, investigators found child sexually abusive material on Beals’ laptop.

Beals was charged with aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material, second offense; using a computer to commit a crime; and as a habitual offender, second offense. He was arraigned Aug. 22 in the 84th District Court.
The investigation involved assistance from the Department of Corrections, MSP Cadillac Post and the MSP Cyber Canine Unit.
