I’m crafting a fabric insert for a picnic basket using cotton fabric. I measure the basket and create a pattern. Remember to add some seam allowance. After ironing, pinning, and sewing the fabric, I attached it with staples and covered the staples with a fabric strip. I replaced the elastic and conditioned the wood. A few more trips to the thrift store and my basket will be complete with silverware, cups and plates.
