FIFE LAKE — An interactive mural has just been installed at a Grand Traverse County Park in an attempt to draw in the crowds.
International artist from Fife Lake, Charlotte Art said she just completed the art piece, located at Springfield Park and Recreation in Fife Lake.
The mural is inspired by the other names the park is known as, Eagle View Park and Carly’s Hill.
8-year-old Carly Belknap-Budrow, tragically lost her life in a sledding accident years ago at the park and Art said eagles are a popular viewing activity at the park.
“Fife Lake is just a very small town. That’s factual for sure. It’s a town that most people just know as the roundabout town, because they hit 131 and they go through the roundabout and keep going through to whatever destination they’re trying to get to. not realizing that we have a full-fledged park here that offers, you know, you can have a picnic here, you can stop and rest,” said Art.
Art said Carly’s mom is one of the park directors and was a huge part in getting the mural in place.
Art also said the mural is a great interactive piece for people to pose in front of and share special moments.
Jordan Chaos assisted with the mural application on the written piece.
