Vehicle crashes into motel, injures man inside room

ST. IGNACE — A 54-year-old Potterville man was seriously injured after a vehicle crashed into his motel room Monday afternoon at the Budget Host Inn and Suites on North State Street, according to the St. Ignace Police Department.

Police responded to the scene around 3:55 p.m. June 23. The man was first taken to Mackinac Straits Hospital in St. Ignace, then transferred to McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey for further treatment.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as a 63-year-old Missouri man. Police have not released additional details about the cause of the crash.

The incident remains under investigation.
