GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY — An art show premiered today in the lobby of a bank in Traverse City for just a few hours this morning as part of a collaboration between Grand Traverse Industries and The Crooked Tree Arts Center.
The Art Able Connections program was a community art show that featured selected creations and an opportunity to meet the artists.
Dayna Ryan, the Director of Operations at GTI, says the show is the first of its kind for them.
She had reached out to Lake MI Credit Union and the business was instantly interested in being involved, which was a goal of Dayna’s.
Dayna tells us “This is our very first art show out in the community. Although we have artwork all over our facility at Grand Traverse Industries.” she adds “This is part of our Community Connections pledge and wanting to connect and collaborate with community partners so that the folks that come to GCI have an opportunity to be included in all aspects of the community. ”
Carolyn Brooks, the Branch Manager at Lake MI Credit Union, says “I’m hoping to make this like an annual thing. Like, I would love every year to be supporting this and to be able to welcome people back, invite new people and keep it growing. ”
Paul, a member of the program, says that the people from GTI and the Crooked Tree Art Center are good people, and they helped him a lot this year.
