TRAVERSE CITY — Today, Traverse City Tourism opened ticket sales for Traverse City Food and Wine.
Despite this being the very first year the event is put on, within an hour some of the events were already sold out.
Tells us the multi-day event is meant to kick of harvest time.
It will showcase the bounty of the Traverse City region’s agriculture, craft, and creativity.
Blending flavors, sights, and sounds, attendees will be able to indulge in bold bites from renowned chefs and restaurants, sip on a handpicked selection of over 100 local wines and craft beverages, and learn from top-tier chefs and experts.
They are also excited to announce the star of the show, a Food Network star, Tyler Florence.
“So Tyler, who’s a veteran of the Food Network, going on, 29 years now, has a ton of experience. He’s been in festivals all over the country. ”Chief Operator Officer Whitney Waara says “He’s really excited to come to Traverse City. He actually had a stint here in Traverse City very early on in his career, before he was on Food Network. So this will be a little bit of a home coming fopr him. And we’re really excited to have him back.”
The event will be from August 20th to August 24th through out the city. Despite tickets going on sale, there are still plenty of free things to do as well.
