Cherry Capital Airport to see just under $200,000 roof repairs

TRAVERSE CITY — The Cherry Capital Airport will soon see repairs to a section of their roof.

The Northwest Regional Airport Authority Board approved a contract of $193,677.

This comes after water damage was sustained from a roof leak last month. That damage was in the rental car area with ceiling tile and drywall repairs needed.

Cherry Capital Airport is expecting to keep operations running as smoothly as possible during that time.

“For this, it’s just a matter of the day in, day out,” says Cherry Capital Airport Engineer Bob Nelesen. “Trying to keep things comfortable and safe for the passengers. Make it convenient for the rental car customers and the staff. With all the busyness going on, just trying to make it as safe and functional as possible.”

That construction will begin sometime in June and will take up to 60 days.
