MANISTEE — A 26-year-old Manistee man has been arrested and charged with multiple counts of criminal sexual conduct following an investigation by the Manistee City Police Department.
According to a May 16 news release, Christopher David Chesebro was arraigned on May 15, 2025, in the 85th District Court on charges including 13 counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct 1st Degree, 13 counts of Child Sexually Abusive Material, and 6 counts of Using a Computer to Commit a Crime.

Chesebro is currently being held in the Manistee County Jail without bond, as ordered by the court. The charge of Criminal Sexual Conduct 1st Degree carries a potential penalty of life imprisonment or any term of years.
The Manistee City Police Department expressed gratitude to the Manistee County Sheriff’s Office and the Michigan State Police Internet Crimes Against Children for their assistance in the investigation.
