Leelanau’s agricultural heritage is fundamental to the history of Northern Michigan and was the backbone of our area’s economy for centuries.
In celebration and to honor the history of the area, historic Ruby Ellen Farm will hold its annual “Plow Day”
Northwest Michigan Draft Horse and Mule Association will provide “gentle giant” draft horses to give demonstrations on how the farms used to be plowed by early settlers to the area.

There will also be wagon rides, harnessing demos, free seedlings and activities for children, as well as antique vehicles and food. You can also spend your time exploring the four museums on the property.
