TRAVERSE CITY — A Bike Swap is coming to the Traverse City area, and while it officially starts Saturday, there are still some things to be done tomorrow.
The TART Trails 14th annual Recycle-A-Bicycle Bike Swap starts at 9 a.m. and runs until 1 p.m.
After the bike swap, people can come and pick up their unsold bikes and/or their checks from 2-4 p.m.
Where do these bikes come from? The Bike Drop Off.
On Friday at the Old Town Parking Deck, those wishing to sell bikes in the swap can check them in from 6-8 p.m.
25% of the proceeds will go back into Recycle-A-Bicycle.
TART Trails employee Dana Pfkughoeft tells us it “Came into fruition as a fundraiser for the Recycle-a-Bicycle program, which really helps those in need in our community, secure free bikes that are often recycled or refurbished, through the Recycled Bicycle Program.”
In previous years, up to 300 bikes have been brought.
TART Trails says people should arrive early, as there is usually a line of buyers waiting for the doors to open.
