LAKE COUNTY — At 10:34 p.m. on Sunday, May 11, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a fatal stabbing at a residence in the 4000 block of W. 9 Mile Road in Eden Township.
According to a May 13 news release, dispatch advised that they received a call from a woman stating that she had killed her husband and hung up. She immediately called back and said that if deputies did not hurry, she would harm herself.
Deputies arrived on the scene and attempted to call out to the female. They eventually located her in a shed behind the house. She was called out of the shed and taken into custody.
Deputies located a deceased 69-year-old male inside the shed. He was pronounced dead on the scene. Based on a preliminary investigation, the 69-year-old woman is being charged with open murder.
