20-year-old from Milton Township dies in crash after hitting deer

MILTON TOWNSHIP — A 20-year-old man from Milton Township died in a single-vehicle crash on Tuesday night after hitting a deer on Western Road.

According to a May 14 news release from the Antrim County Sheriff’s Office, the accident occurred at 9:32 p.m. on May 13, 2025, when the driver, traveling southbound in a 2017 Lincoln MKZ, lost control of the vehicle after striking a deer and subsequently crashed into a tree.

The Antrim County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene of the crash, which took place south of Stallman Road in Milton Township.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, and his name is being withheld pending notification of family.

There were no other occupants in the vehicle at the time of the crash. The crash remains under investigation by the authorities.

Assisting at the scene were the Elk Rapids Police Department and the Milton Township Fire Department.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing, as officials work to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
