PRESQUE ISLE COUNTY — Sheriff Joe Brewbaker wants everyone to know that utility crews in his county are working as quickly as they can to restore power.
In a video Brewbaker posted to Facebook he said, despite the feverish work being done, some line crews and utilities companies have been receiving threats from people who are still without power, even death threats.
“I’ve spoken with utility companies. They’re waiting on supplies, it’s been very hard to get as many parts and poles and wire as needed for the amount of devastation that hit our county of Presque Isle. I want to assure everyone, they are doing their very best, and as fast as they can,” said Brewbaker
Power has been restored to more than 10,000 customers in Presque Isle County and about 2,000 were still lights out as of this report.
Presque Isle Electric and Gas, which saw nearly its entire grid destroyed by the storm, is approaching the halfway mark in their restoration efforts.
