EMMET COUNTY — Emmet County is still recovering from a severe ice storm that struck the area on March 28.
According to an April 1 news release, the counties’ Emergency Operations Center (EOC) continues to lead recovery efforts and eespite improved weather conditions significant challenges persist including widespread power outages, blocked roadways and damaged infrastructure.
The EOC remains committed to restoring essential services, providing shelter, and ensuring the safety of all residents.

- Current Situation: The ice storm caused extensive damage, bringing down trees, power lines, and leaving debris across Emmet County. Many roads remain impassable, and power restoration efforts are ongoing. Residents are advised to prepare for potential extended outages.
