CHEBOYGAN — On Friday the Cheboygan police department responded to reports of an alligator inside Pine Rivers motel room.
Officers said housekeeping discovered the gator while cleaning the room after an occupant left.
An investigation concluded that the owner of the alligator, whose name is Wally, was in town for an exotic animal presentation with elementary school children.

The owner had other exotic animals with him for the presentation and realized Wally had gotten loose, but wasn’t sure when and where Wally escaped from.
After being contacted by police, the owner agreed to head back to Cheboygan to pick Wally up.
Officers reunited the owner with Wally Friday night.
