OSCODA COUNTY - A 23-year-old Mio woman has been arrested and charged with sexually assaulting a child, Michigan State Police said Wednesday, Feb. 19.
In October 2022, troopers from the Michigan State Police Alpena Post responded to the Oscoda County Sheriff’s Office to investigate an alleged criminal sexual conduct complaint involving a minor. The parent of the victim reported the alleged abuse.
The suspect was identified as then-20-year-old Aray Colvin of Mio, troopers said. The case involved multiple sexual assaults against the victim, who is a minor, troopers said.
A lengthy investigation followed, and the victim was interviewed at the Northern Michigan Child Advocacy Center in Roscommon, officials said. The report was turned over to the Oscoda County Prosecutor’s Office, and a six-count felony warrant was issued on Jan. 22, 2025.
Troopers contacted the MSP Seventh District Fugitive Team to assist with the arrest of Colvin.
On Feb. 13, Colvin was arrested and lodged in the Oscoda County Jail, troopers said.
Colvin was arraigned in the 81st District Court in Oscoda County on Feb. 14 on a six-count felony warrant: one count possession of child sexually abusive material, one count accosting a child for immoral purposes, two counts child sexually abusive activity, one count computers - using to commit a crime, and one count minors - inducing to commit a felony.
