Collecting sports cards has been a national past-time for decades. But with young kids now more engrossed in their devices, card trading and collecting are becoming a hobby of days gone by. Unless, of course, you are one of the collectors showcased in the new documentary “Hobby Hustle” which celebrates the good and bad sides of the memorabilia industry.
The film highlights stories such as an ex-baseball player that turned to forgery and the tale of one family that passed down a treasure trove of cards without anyone knowing until the latest owner, a hoarder, passed away. However, what many in Northern Michigan may recognize is the film showcasing local Luke Kooy, owner of Up North Collectors in Manistee.
“Hobby Hustle” is out now on AppleTV and Amazon Prime Video.
