GAYLORD — On Dec. 1, 2024, a trooper from the Michigan State Police (MSP) Gaylord Post responded to an alleged assault at the Dollar General on M-32.

The suspect had already left the scene, but the trooper spoke with the victim who said Adam Spencer Knuteson from Johannesburg had threatened him with a knife in the parking lot.

They said the incident began inside the store when Knuteson was arguing with a store employee. The victim told Knuteson that he had to leave and the police were being called. The victim followed Knuteson out to the parking lot where the assault was said to place.

The trooper spoke with other witnesses and reviewed surveillance footage from the store. Knuteson was interviewed at his home and denied the allegations.

An arrest warrant was issued, which Knuteson was served while in the Otsego County Jail on a separate charge. He was arraigned this week on one count Assault with a Dangerous Weapon.
