CADILLAC – 9&10 News is excited to announce the launch of a brand new show, Beyond the Forecast, which debuts March 24.
This informative and engaging show will explore the science behind Northern Michigan’s unique weather patterns as the region transitions from winter’s chill to the emerging signs of spring. From lake effect snow to severe thunderstorms, Beyond the Forecast will take viewers deep into the fascinating world of weather and its impact on daily life in Northern Michigan.
The 30-minute weekday show will be hosted by 9&10 News Chief Meteorologist Michael Stevens, Meteorologist Haley Fiaschetti and Meteorologist John Gross. With over 25 years of combine experience forecasting in Northern Michigan, the team is uniquely positioned to provide in-depth, local weather knowledge that residents and businesses can rely on.
“Growing up and living here you get used to the amazing four seasons, but how many times do we hear, ‘it’s Michigan,’ which people reference when the weather is unpredictable in their eyes,” Stevens said. “Well, let’s show everyone the science behind the weather. Why it does what it does and just how fluid it is!”
Beyond the Forecast will delve into a variety of topics, including the influence of the Great Lakes on weather patterns, the role of weather in the region’s tourism industry and the show’s partnership with local schools to promote science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM) education. The program will also feature experiments, trivia and live updates on severe weather events as needed.
In addition to the TV show, a Beyond the Forecast newsletter will be delivered directly to viewers’ inboxes on weekdays, keeping them informed and connected. Soon after, a Beyond the Forecast podcast will be available as part of the new offerings from 910 Media Group.
The airing time for Beyond the Forecast will be determined through a viewer poll, set to take place over the next week. Cast your vote above.
