January is Cervical Cancer Awareness Month, a time for us to spread good information on the disease that can be controlled or cured if caught early.
The biggest way to avoid being diagnosed with cervical cancer is to make sure you and your loved one have the HPV vaccine, which is effective 99% of the time in stopping cervical cancer, according to the Health Department of Northwest Michigan.
