KINGSLEY - The Grand Traverse County Road Commission is expanding today they had a ribbon cutting for their brand-new building in Kinsley. That serves the southern part of the county. The original building needed a lot of repair and the county no longer wanted to park their trucks in there anymore.
The new building has two additional routes leaving from the Kinsley location. It also features a new office space, a place for their hoists, mechanics can change out their blades and grease their trucks. The Grand Traverse County Road Commission is excited for the new space
“So, it was a great opportunity for us to replace that existing building for the same time. Look at, you know, what was the need of the community. And this is growing down here…so at this time, we took the opportunity to build a nice building, something that we’re hoping serves the community for a long time to come,” says Dan Watkins Manager Grand Traverse County Road Commission.
The road that leads to the new facility is named after the person behind the early stages of design, William Mouser, and they dedicated it to his family today.
