SNAP-Ed offers nutritional education in the schools that emphasizes healthy eating, eating right when money’s tight, cooking, and physical activity at 7 districts in 4 counties. The goal is to encourage students to eat more fruits and vegetables.
The team takes fresh samples in for the students and encourages them to touch and taste. Through the interactivity, students are often introduced to foods they’ve never seen or tasted. This is all part of equipping children and their families to do what they can to prevent disease caused by malnutrition and being inactive.
