TRAVERSE CITY -Habitat for Humanity Grand Traverse Region has named TBA Credit Union in Traverse City its partner of the year. TBA credit union is a $5,000 level habitat community partner. TBA Credit Union and Habitat for Humanity have a mentor program that helps new homeowners throughout their buying process.
They teach the homeowners step by step about how to buy a home so, they have a better understanding of how it works. They answer questions about anything from mortgages to maintenance. Chris Milliron, TBA’s Chief Lending Officer, is currently a mentor for new homeowner Emilee. He and his crew donated their time and helped lend a hand in building Emilee’s home as well one for another buyer.
“We’re very honored. It was. It was pretty cool. You know, it’s awesome when the things that we do align really well with, an organization like Habitat. You know, we are a lending institution. Helping serve our community. It was an opportunity to do just that. And so when, especially when there’s a need, and we could provide a solution that’s, that’s a pretty cool feeling,” shares Chris Milliron, TBA Credit Union Chief Lending Officer.
TBA Credit Union also plays another role with habitat for humanity by helping new homeowners qualify and understand their first mortgage.
