Man sentenced for deadly 2021 crash in Sault Ste. Marie

SAULT STE. MARIE — Police said Dominic Romane Gunn pleaded guilty to one count attempted manslaughter and one count attempted assault with intent to do great bodily harm for a deadly 2021 crash.

The driver of a Subaru Outback was injured and passenger Robbi Jo-Ann Anderson was killed when Gunn crashed into them while intoxicated in his Chevy Equinox.

He was charged in April 2022. After years of litigation, he was sentenced on Dec. 3, 2024 to serve 12 months in jail – 8 months to be served immediately, with the remainder in abeyance while he serves 12 months of probation.
