Monday is the last day to register online or by mail to vote in Michigan

TRAVERSE CITY - Election Day is fast approaching and Monday, Oct. 21 is the last day to register online or by mail to vote in Michigan.

If you missed the deadline, you can still register at your clerk’s office.

When registering to vote, you’ll need documentation including your driver’s license plus bank statement or bill that shows your current address. If you miss the chance to register, Michigan does offer in-person registration until 8 p.m. on election day.

“It’s better to do it sooner than later, like with anything. If you’re missing some documentation or there is any issue, you just have more time to fix that so that you’re definitely able to vote on the fifth,” said Benjamin Marentette, Traverse City Clerk.

Early voting starts statewide on Saturday, and continues until Nov. 3.
