KINGSLEY — Kingsley Elementary School has been awarded the 2024 Summer Reading Club championship banner for having the highest percentage of students who participated and read at least 600 minutes over 6 weeks.
According to an Oct. 16 news release, the school had 665 students who participated in the program including 115 pre-readers, up 10% from the summer of 2023 with more than a third of all readers achieving or surpassing the 600-minute goal.

“The Kingsley Branch Library would like to thank the students for their diligence (and) school librarian Wendy Sterk for instilling a love of libraries and encouraging them to continue reading through the summer and especially the teachers and staff who promoted the program in a myriad of ways,” the release said.
