Mackinac County Wellness Coalition’s Senior Health Expo set for Oct. 23

MACKINAC COUNTY — The Mackinac County Wellness Coalition is hosting its second annual Senior Health Expo on Oct. 23 featuring free vaccinations, lunch, prizes and more.

According to an Oct. 11 news release, the free expo will run from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Oct 23 in the community center of Little Bear East at 275 Marquette St. in St. Ignace.

“The mission of the MCWC is to educate, support and empower communities to improve, maintain, and optimize their overall health and well-being; and to foster a culture of vitality for all Mackinac County residents,” the release said.

During the expo, the Luce-Mackinac-Alger-Schoolcraft Health Department will be offering Flu and COVID vaccines with no appointments necessary.

A free lunch will be provided by Community Action, Mackinac Straits Health System, EUP United Way, Family Fare and Little Bear.

Another feature of the event will be yoga demonstrations by instructor Samantha Radecki. A handyman service will also be on hand providing information regarding fall prevention and making your residence safe.

  • Straits Area EMS
  • St. Ignace Police Department
