Bees attack 3-year-olds at park near Grand Rapids

PLAINFIELD TOWNSHIP (AP) — Thirteen young children and four adults have been stung by ground-nesting bees at a western Michigan park, police said.

The group of 3-year-olds from a nearby child development center were visiting Rogue River Park in Plainfield Township early Friday afternoon when a nest was disturbed, WZZM-TV reported.

Some bees made it inside the children’s clothing, and a few of the children were stung more than once, according to the daycare enter.

The children were moved away from the bees and onto a bus. None of the children were seriously hurt, Plainfield Township Fire Chief Kyle Svoboda said.
