Crafting with the Katies: Got 20 minutes, a shirt and a pair of scissors? You can make your own tote bag!

The Katies are back with another quick and easy DIY that’s perfect for the summer! You need two items to make this craft that you probably already have at your home!

To make your own DIY tote bag, you’ll need:

  • A shirt
  • A pair of scissors

Step one: Take your shirt and lay it out flat facing you. Then, cut around the sleeves following the curved stitching.

Step two: Take your shirt and fold it in half as best you can. Then cut around the neck of your shirt in a half circle as big as you’d like. This will be the opening to your bag.

Step three: Unfold your shirt and lay it back out as smooth as you can. Take the bottom hem of your shirt and cut strips through both sides of your fabric. You should have tassels once you reach the other side of your shirt.

Step four: Tie your strands together so you make a bottom to your bag. Don’t forget to double knot!
