Visitors to Ludington’s Cartier Trail will notice something new on the mile-long paved path.

The Ludington Area Center for the Arts (LACA) recently updated the artwork placed along the trail as part of their “cARTier trail” art walk. It’s a year-round art installation featuring large scale, 3′ by 4′ reproductions of artwork created by LACA member artists.

The three new pieces installed on the trail are:

  • “I Love You Lake Michigan” by Trinja Henrickson of Ludington
  • “Song of Carolina” by Ruth Ananda of Ludington and Chapel Hill, N.C.
  • “Positive Energy” by Todd Reed of Ludington

“Public art activates and encourages people to pay attention and perceive more deeply the environment they occupy. It is uniquely accessible and enables people to experience art in the course of daily life, outside of museums or other cultural institutions,” said Andrew Skinner, LACA executive director. ”It’s my hope that ‘cARTier trail’ will continue to add to the uniqueness of our community while also fostering a community where arts and culture bring us together, feed the creative spirit, and fuel community growth.”
