CADILLAC — On Aug. 24 around 8 p.m., officers from the Cadillac Police Department responded to the area of Crosby Road at the intersection of Crosby Court for a motorcycle accident with reported injuries to the rider.
The investigation showed the motorcycle - driven by a 40-year-old Reed City man - was traveling south when it left the roadway and drove into the grass, police said. The motorcycle then appeared to have traveled over 150 feet in the grass before wrecking on the west side of the road, they said.
MMR Ambulance took the man to Munson Cadillac Hospital, where he was airlifted out with life-threatening injuries, police said.
Speed and alcohol use were believed to be contributing factors in the crash, police said.
The investigation is ongoing and no additional information is available at this time.
The Cadillac Police Department was assisted by deputies from the Wexford County Sheriff’s Office as well as members from the Cadillac Fire Department.
