Sunday night after dark, Montcalm County deputies responded to a deadly moped crash on South Greenville Road.
A witness told deputies that a Greenville man was riding on the moped when a southbound vehicle caused him to move over onto the shoulder. A disabled Chevy Traverse was parked there, and the man crashed into it.
The moped driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The witness wasn’t able to describe the other vehicle involved in the crash.
Deputies said alcohol was not a factor, but the moped driver was not wearing a helmet.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Montcalm County Central Dispatch, Montcalm County Emergency Services, and the Montcalm Township Fire Department.
