The current Secretary of State office in Manistee at 1638 US-31 will permanently close at 5 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 23.
In-person services will be unavailable from end of day Friday until Sept. 3 while locations move less than a mile away to 1475 US-31, the northeast corner of US-31 and Merkey Road.
The new office will open for business at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, after Labor Day.
During the closure and move, most services can be completed online at Michigan.gov/SOS. The nearest self-service station is in the Ludington Meijer, where you can complete license and registration renewals among other services.
If you need to schedule an in-person visit, the nearest SOS offices are at 5902 US-10 in Ludington and 10577 Main St. in Honor. Schedule online or by calling 1-888-767-6424. Those offices are open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
