The Benzie County Sheriff’s Office said a motorcyclist died in a crash on Monday.
They got the call around 5:30 a.m. that a motorcycle had crashed near the intersection of Brownell and Haze Road in Homestead Township, and that CPR was in progress.
Deputies said a 17-year-old was headed west on Brownell Road when he ran off the road while going around a curve. They said he was wearing a helmet, but speed and alcohol were likely involved.
The Sheriff’s Office said the teen from St. Johns will be identified once his family has been notified.
