On Thursday, Aug. 8, the Marion Community Fire Department responded to a fire at a home on Water Street around 5:50 p.m.
The caller who reported the fire said there was someone trapped inside. Firefighters found the victim, a 61-year-old Marion woman, deceased.
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the fire with help from other agencies, and an autopsy is pending. No foul play is suspected at this time.
