Jack’s Mullett Lake Marina heads into their second season

Jack Woudenberg has spent his summers coming to Northern Michigan his whole life. His family has been vacationing at Mullett Lake since the 1800s. The Lake holds a special place in his heart, so much so that he now runs and operates Jack’s Mullett Lake Marina.

“So, I’ve been coming here my whole life. I’m actually, native of Phoenix, Arizona. but I’ve never missed a summer coming up here. My family’s been coming up here to Mo Lake for over 140 years. My kids are fifth generation to come up here in the summertime. So, I’ve been coming this little Marina since I was eight years old. And my little Boston Whaler, back in the day. And it’s just, I love this, Marina. I love coming here. And, I had an opportunity in my life right now to, to refocus on, on a new career and was able to buy this Marina, two seasons ago,” said Jack Woudenberg.

This is the second season of Jack owning the marina and it’s quickly become the heart of this Michigan lake. A place where friends and family can gather on a hot summer day and make memories on Mullett Lake just like Jack did.

“I have a real passion for this Marina. It’s just it was one of my, you know, one of my fond childhood memories was coming here, in the boat and getting a little water out of the artesian well and, filling up with gas and oil candy. I’ve kind of supersize that idea now with a food truck and ice cream, for the kids coming down here and kind of recreating that, some of those fond memories I have from my childhood,” said Jack.

You can stop at the marina for lunch and a sweet treat, or you can rent some water toys and learn more about the boats and pontoons for sale.

“We have actually one of the largest, rental boat inventories in northern Michigan. And we also have, six jet skis that we rent as well. And we’ve got a couple of little bikes here and, water bikes that we rent as well. along with, skis, kayaks, paddleboards, tubes and, everything. We’ve added a showroom, a food truck, remodeled the whole inside of the Marina. we’re also adding, extra, dock space going out and, an extra pump out here on the on the dock. We’re going to take this all the way out and have two pumps, to service the public a little bit better going forward,” Woudenberg said.

This is just the beginning for Jack’s Mullett Lake Marina with many more additions and memories to come.
