ISABELLA COUNTY — A 76-year-old woman was killed and her husband was seriously injured after a car crash near Nottawa Township.
The crash happened Saturday on Winn Road after a 20-year-old man traveling south in a Volkswagen Jetta drove into the opposite lane and hit the elderly couple’s GMC Envoy head on, the Isabelle County Sheriff’s Office said.
When authorities arrived, fire personnel were needed to get the elderly couple out of their car, deputies said.

All three were taken to MyMichigan E.D. in Midland, where the 76-year-old died, deputies said.
The 20-year-old man - who is from Weidman - was not seriously hurt.
The crash is under investigation.
