*Winter Weather Advisory for Luce-Chippewa-Mackinac Counties from 7PM Thursday to 7PM Friday! 3-6″ of snow will be possible with isolated 7″ areas.

*Winter Weather Advisory for most of Lower Peninsula from 5AM Friday to 4PM Friday. An inch or two of snow will be possible but a tenth of an inch of ice will be possible, especially the farther South you head.

Widespread mixed precipitation will continue today.

Still expecting more snow in the U.P.

In the Lower Peninsula, freezing rain will exit this afternoon.

This will impact travel throughout the day, especially downstate.

Slick and icy roadways will be the main concern as temperatures are in the mid-20s to mid-30s.

Winds from the SE at 5-15 mph.

Tonight: Dry Skies

By the evening, skies will be drier.

Looking at mostly cloudy skies, with E/SE at 5-10 mph.

Lows in the upper teens to upper 20s.

This Weekend: Warmer

Saturday is looking partly cloudy with a few more rays in the mix possible.

Saturday will be a better travel day compared to Friday.

Highs Saturday will be in the low 30s to low 40s.

Any treatments on the roads from precipitation Friday will be more effective by Saturday.

Another system will be ready to move in on Sunday.

It will be another chance to see more rain and snow.

Highs are in the low 30s to low 40s.

Right now, the system will start with rain and then change to snow overnight.

Early Next Week: Colder, More Lake Effect Snow

Still trending colder and windy with more scattered lake effect snow Monday.

Highs Monday from the upper teens to upper 20s.

Still some lake effect snow Tuesday but, not as windy.

Highs Tuesday from the upper teens to upper 20s.

New Years Eve will feature isolated snow and cold temps in the mid-teens to mid-20s.

Overnight temperatures are in the single digits.

So bundle up for an outdoor festivities.
