Winter Weather Advisories:
For Charlevoix, Emmet, Cheboygan, Presque Isle, Mackinac Island/Bois Blanc Island, Beaver Island and surrounding islands counties in effect from 2PM this afternoon until 8PM Wednesday night.
-Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow and sleet accumulations between 1 and 3 inches and ice accumulations less than one tenth of an inch.
For Western Chippewa, Central Chippewa, Southeast Chippewa, Western Mackinac and Eastern Mackinac counties in effect from 2PM this afternoon until 8PM Wednesday night.
- Snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 3 and 6inches, with locally higher amounts possible across northern Chippewa and western Mackinac.
For Luce county in effect from 5PM this evening until 8PM Wednesday night.
- Snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 4 and 6inches.
For Leelanau, Antrim, Otsego, Montmorency, Benzie, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska, Manistee, Wexford, Missaukee, Alpena, Crawford, Oscoda, Alcona, Roscommon, Ogemaw, Iosco, and Gladwin counties in effect from 8PM tonight until 8PM Wednesday night.
-Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow and sleet accumulations up to one inch and ice accumulations
For Lake, Osceola, and Clare counties in effect from 10PM until 2PM Wednesday afternoon.
- Freezing rain expected. Total ice accumulations around one tenth of an inch. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.
Today: U.P. Snow
Skies are mostly to partly cloudy, with brighter skies further South.
In the U.P., expect more flurries to isolated snow showers to move in.
Highs are in the mid-30s to low 50s, warmer in the Central Lower.
Winds are pretty strong from the Northeast at 10-20 mph.
Tonight: System Moves In
The snow in the U.P. is just the start, as a big system moves in overnight.
Temperatures will really dictate the kind of precip you have.
U.P. temps are in the mid-20s, which will bring in the scattered snow and mixed precip.
In the Northern Lower, temps are in upper 20s to low 30s, which will bring in mixed precip.
Expecting icy/slick roadways and some snowfall.
Central Lower will feature mixed chances with rain showers. Temps in the mid-30s.
Winds are strong from the E/NE at 15-25 mph.
Mid-Late Week: More Wintry Precipitation
Wednesday will continue with a wintry mix, scattered mix precipitation.
Northern zones will be seeing more snow.
Overnight more snow to develop.
Highs Wednesday are colder from the upper 20s north to near 40 south.
Winds stay breezy throughout the day. Could lead to some low visibility if traveling.
Thursday could have a lingering snow shower. Drier conditions with some sun.
Highs Thursday from the mid 20s north to near 40 south.
Friday brings in another clipper and some colder air to go along with it.
Likely will be more snow with a few mixed showers south possible.
Easily could pick up a few more inches Friday for many locations. Stay tuned.
Highs Friday in the 30s near 40 south.
Winds Friday will also be breezy again.
Weekend: Another Possible Wintry System, Colder
Saturday could feature a few passing snow flurries.
Highs Saturday from the upper 20s to upper 30s.
Yet even another system will be on the table for Sunday as another snow/mix.
Highs Sunday are still trending colder from the upper 20s to upper 30s.
Overnight lows this weekend will dip back into the teens and 20s. Even a few single digits farther north.
Some isolated snow showers still on the table for Monday.
Highs Monday from the mid teens to mid 20s.
