Christmas is often associated with snow, hence “I’m dreaming of a white Christmas,” snow globes, Santa’s sleigh and much more.
Having a white Christmas is officially defined as having 1″ of snow on the ground.
Here in Northern Michigan, between 60 t0 100% of Christmas have been white (depending on location) since 1991.
With Christmas Day just around the corner, the Doppler 9 & 10 Weather Team has been keeping an eye on the forecast for this year.
The good news is that temperatures are expected to drop into the teens and 20s by mid-week. That means Northern Michigan will be setting up for some lake-effect snow across the region.
For those looking forward to a white Christmas, the chances are in your favor!
