The 17th annual Veterans and First Responders Pheasant Hunt at Tails A Waggin Hunting Preserve in Marion starts Friday.
The guided hunt is free for veterans and first responders. Each participant gets five pheasants. They also have six track chairs for people who are handicapped.
The guided hunt runs through Monday. There is also a lunch-in each day.
“It’s a way for us to give back,” said Tails A Waggin veterans hunt board member Dean Molnar. “We’ll have 300 to 400 hunters here tomorrow through Monday but we will have 100 to 200 volunteers. it’s a way for individuals our communities to give back to our veterans our first responders those who have served us abroad and also locally within our own communities.”
