The Northwest Michigan Community Action Agency is hosting their 19th Super Saturday event in February.
The event aims to help people connect with services and help they may need, and allows for community partners to meet with members of the community.
People can meet with Traverse City organizations to find out what they offer.
FMS Systems Coordinator for NMCAA Whitney Hahnenberg said it’s a great event for not just the community, but also for their partners.
“[They can] meet each other in the middle and understand what their needs are.” Hahnenberg said.
NMCAA will be offering anything they can to help the community including free diapers, at home covid tests, masks and other prizes.
They’ll also have free lunch from Jimmy Johns, and they’ll prepare your taxes for free.
“The motivation behind helping these people is just that, we want to help people,” Hahnenberg says. “We want to help our community become better and help empower them to get out of their situation if they’re in a situation where they need help.”
The event is Saturday, Feb. 12th from 10 a.m. to noon at the Michigan Works building in Traverse City at 1209 South Garfield Avenue.
It is a drive-thru event, and those planning on attending must register ahead of time.
