This home has nearly 200 feet of sandy frontage on Lake Charlevoix, luxurious amenities and stunning craftsmanship in every little detail.
“I tried very hard in working on this house to create a house that was not only large enough for a big family, but also was elegant and yet homey at the same time so I really did spend a great deal of time on detail, making sure that the best quality materials and practices were used throughout the house,” said homeowner Frank Macher.
And you can see the quality and attention to detail in all 16,000 square feet of it.
This magnificent home was engineered for comfort and convenience.
“It’s almost like having little villages within the house,” said Frank. “For three of the bedrooms upstairs, four I mean, I put in a kitchen, a small kitchen with a library where the kids could congregate and have their breakfast up there instead of having to come down here to the kitchen to share. It’s got its own microwave, a refrigerator, a dishwasher.”
The “village” on the lower level was made for entertainment.
In addition to the pool table and the custom built bar, this “basement” boasts some fantastic features.
“I’ve got a 2,000 bottle wine cellar, I’ve got a recreation room downstairs that’s magnificent, an exercise room and a theater room all on the lower level,” he said.
The state of the art theater isn’t the only place to watch your favorite movie or show.
In total there are 22 televisions placed throughout the home including one in the garage and two in the master bathroom.
Every room in this high tech house is wired for sound.
Frank said “each room is at least stereo and I think I have five actual surround sound rooms which effectively give me five theaters.”
The stunning master suite is also where you will find two of the home’s eight fireplaces.
One of Frank’s favorite spots in this incredible home is his gourmet kitchen.
“I wanted to have a room where you could actually have the family, have plenty of room around the table, or the kitchen counter, so the kitchen counter will hold ten at ease. It is equipped with a wolf gas stove,” he said. “The actual kitchen and family room was made to be the open concept so that you have the total view of a very large space. It goes onto the porch between these rooms we can do barbecue, we can make pizzas in our pizza oven. I’ve got two microwaves and three dishwashers and it’s big enough so you could have a family of 20 which I had all here at the same time and not really step on each other.”
When the family is in town, the attached mother-in-law apartment has been outfitted with anything they could need.
It even has built in hiding spots for the kids to play hide-and-seek.
The incredible interior of the home is only complemented by its setting along beautiful Lake Charlevoix.
The lake and the rushing creek can both be enjoyed all year long from the comfort of the outdoor fireplace.
“It’s a real fun time in the summer at night to go out there and sing ‘kumbaya’ and have a few brews,” said Frank.
