Family of missing pregnant woman Rebecca Park pleads for safe return

WEXFORD COUNTY — As the Wexford County Sheriff’s office tracks down leads for missing pregnant woman Rebecca Park who has been missing for more than a week after she disappeared into thin air last week in Wexford County, her family is speaking out about her disappearance.

22-year-old Rebecca Park of Manton, more commonly known as Rebecca, disappeared from her biological mother’s house on S. 21 ½ Road in Boon Township on Nov. 3.

Her mom, Cortney Bartholomew, was the last person to see Rebecca. She said as the days go on, she and her family are increasingly worried for Rebecca and her baby’s safety. Cortney said Rebecca was having contractions right before she disappeared and was dilated one centimeter after checking in at a local hospital before they sent her home.

They said they have no idea where she is or who she went with. Her cell phone was later located near her mom’s home on a two-track.

Now in her 39th week of pregnancy and due Nov. 18, she said it’s critical to find her and her unborn baby, needing answers that can’t come soon enough.

“Just knowing that her cell phone was so close. Did she try to come here and knock on the door? And I didn’t hear, you know, that, like, a million thoughts ran through my head on why it would be there,” Bartholomew said.

She said Rebecca disappeared after spending time with her running errands. She said she went inside the home to grab Tide pods and as they were about to drive away, Cortney stopped her.

“She’s like, Mom, hold up. I got somebody coming. And I’m like, what do you mean you got somebody coming? And she’s like, I got somebody coming to get me,” Bartholomew said.

She said soon a black car with tinted windows, she had never seen before, pulled up.

“She got out of the car, turned around, and opened the door back up. She’s like, ‘Mom, I’ll be back,’ and she got in the car. They crept up by my truck really slowly. And by the time they got to the front of my truck, they took off,” Bartholomew said.

She said she and Rebecca have a somewhat rocky relationship. Rebecca was in foster care in her youth, but she loves Rebecca and was looking forward to her grandson’s birth.

Bartholomew said a $10,000 reward is being offered from a family friend for any information leading to her safe return. She said more tips have been flooding in since the reward money was put up.

“The detective is coming out today, and we are going to go through all the tips that have come in, what he thinks he should chase down, and what he just thinks he should disregard because there are hundreds of tips coming in, but nothing that solid,” Bartholomew said.

Rebecca’s younger half-sister, Kimberly Park, said they are close.

“We talk at least two to three times a day, if not more,” Park said.

Park said she doesn’t know what to think and knows Rebecca had disappeared before but usually kept in contact with someone.

“I honestly try not to think about what happened. I mean, she’s disappeared before, but someone always knew where she was, and it was usually me hiding her out,” Park said.

She said she hopes that’s what’s happened, but Rebecca needs to contact her.

“It bugs me every day. I’m losing sleep. I’m constantly screwing up at my job. So, it’s really hard,” Park said.

If you have any information as to Rebecca’s whereabouts, you’re asked to contact the Wexford County Sheriff’s office.
