Cadillac Library hosts Horror Lit Fest with spooky fun and blood drive

CADILLAC — The Cadillac Wexford County Public Library is embracing the Halloween spirit this week with its vampire-themed Horror Lit Fest.

The weeklong event features a variety of activities, including a scavenger hunt for all ages, spooky displays and take-home craft bags.

On Thursday, the library will host a blood drive with the Versiti Blood Center of Michigan.

Organizers say the goal is to promote literacy, creativity and community engagement.

“We want to celebrate reading and encourage everyone to read and expand their horizons outside of what they’re experiencing every day,” one organizer said. “This is a place where you can come and be seen and geek out about the things that you’re passionate about.”

Local businesses are also joining in on the festivities, with some offering garlic-themed dishes and others hosting special activities.
