Looking for a way to burn off some extra calories before the Thanksgiving feast while helping to support the community?
The 17th Annual Up North Media Traverse City Turkey Trot is the answer. Thousands will gather to run, walk or waddle the course. Some will even be donning costumes.
Proceeds from the registration fee will go towards TART Trails, and the Father Fred Foundation will be onsite collecting non-perishables. Whether you’re there to run or show support along the route, it’s a fun time for all.
“People definitely know how to dress up and get ready to celebrate Thanksgiving in this community. Lots of family, lots of dogs, lots of strollers with kids. It’s a great way to start off your morning and support a great cause. Cheer on those runners. Cowbells are encouraged. Music is encouraged. You can’t wait to see all the costumes and the amazing turkey hats that they wear that morning supporting a favorite run,” said Kat Paye, CEO of the Festival Foundation.
Everything kicks off at 7:30 a.m. at St. Francis High School with runs starting at 8:45. You can sign up here.
