Michigan State Police want to remind everyone to stay safe while they’re out on Halloween.
Trick-or-treaters should wear costumes that don’t obstruct their sight, use a flashlight and wear bright or reflective clothing.

MSP also urges drivers to be vigilant as the sun sets.
“As the night goes by, you see the children frantically sometimes trying to hit more houses because they know the time is short for their trick-or-treating, and then they begin running places. So parents, please monitor that. Make sure your child knows to walk. Just start plenty early. Give yourself plenty of time,” said Spl./Lt. Derrick Carroll.
