TRAVERSE CITY- Wednesday was a national signing day for high school athletes continuing their careers at the collegiate level. Traverse City West senior Carter Grubb put pen to paper and signed his letter of intent to continue playing basketball at Lake Superior State University.
The 6′6 Grubb was a pivotal piece of the Titans’ 19-5 record and Big North Conference championship last year. He’s joining a Lakers squad that is coming off the best year in program history with a 30-7 record and a trip to the Elite Eight.
Grubb spoke about his hopes to elevate an already championship caliber squad, saying, “It might take a year, but I hope I hope I can go in and start playing immediately. All the players are really close, and the coach just seems to really care about the guys even after they leave. So I just think it’s the right fit”.
Grubb is soon to begin his senior season for West and is hoping for a successful year and deep playoff run.
